As of February 16, 2021, immense change has occurred in O'Duighan. This immense change is the recent events regarding the civil war, which began on February 9, 2021. This was due to immense strife between Harold Duighan, the leader of the Socialist government, and former Vice President Simbach A. Vazo, who opposed the new Socialist administration, as he believed it was a tyrannical regime that must be destroyed, which led him to declare a secessionist government.
At that time, the conditions seemed dire, as Simbach seemed quite unstoppable, as he refused to surrender, and wished to fight until the end. However, things have taken an immense turn in the right direction! Harold gained the support of several nations, such as the Arthurian Empire, the Kingdom of Begon, and the Seabourgian Commonwealth. This has led to the government gaining the high ground, and gives them leverage against these rebels. Now, on this day, a new change has occurred, Operation Red Fury, which was devised by General Vincent Ironside, who is also the Emperor of Arthuria. He devised the plan as a crushing blow to the rebels, and also as a show of force, a way to show that O'Duighan will not back down to people who wish to destroy the nation and tear it apart.
This operation was planned on February 10, 2021, but due to immense delays, it did not occur until February 16. However, regardless, it was an immense victory for the nation! A victory like no other! The operation began after the Duighan People's Red Army invaded the Free State of O'Duighan-controlled territory from the very north of Basementia. They pushed all the way north, until they reached Haroldstadt, a colony of Begon. Red Army forces then moved into Eastern Potatia, before moving up even further north, and raised the banner of the Red Army! They then turned back, and returned to the main base in Basementia, after they secured the newly-captured territory.
After this, Harold Duighan proclaimed victory, and demanded Simbach to surrender. This war clearly seems to be turning in the right direction, and it seems that victory is on the horizon!
