Current Events in Wamong, June 1901

Elections held in Wamong

On 25 June 1901 (2021), the nation amended its constitution and held elections. The nation had begun making reforms to remove itself from the Communist government of Wamong that ruled the nation for 3 months between March and June 1901 (2021), which led the nation to pursue multi-party elections. The elections were held, and three parties ran, which were the Independent Party of Wamong, the People's Revolutionary Socialist Party, and the newly-formed Laissez Fair Individualist Party.

The election had an 85% turnout from the eligible voters, which consisted of 7 citizens who could vote. The Independent Party of Wamong won with 83% of the vote, which led to the party winning 5 seats in the People's Council. The Laissez Faire Individualist Party gained about 17% of the vote, and won 1 seat in the People's Council. The People's Revolutionary Socialist Party gained 0% of the vote, and gained no seats.

These elections were held to set up a provisional government for Wamong. The next elections shall be held on 24 November 1902 (2021), and shall determine what the new government will be once the provisional government ends.

Harold Duighan is proclaimed Dictator

Harold was proclaimed the Dictator of Wamong after he renamed his position of Grand Marshal to Dictator. The proclamation was made after the Wamongian constitution was officially amended. He made a declaration proclaiming that a new era was beginning, an era he proclaimed the "Democratic Dictatorial Era", or the "Democratic Dictatorship". He stated Wamong shall begin a new period, and shall return to greatness. Harold assumed his position, which was met with mostly praise, though opposition politicians, such as the leader of the LFIP, did not support it.

Political turmoil grows in Wamong

Political turmoil has begun brewing in Wamong since the Laissez Fair Individualist Party was founded on 23 June 1901 (2021), which supported Capitalism, Libertarianism, and Minarchism. This clashed with the Independent Party of Wamong, which opposes Libertarian ideals, and aims to institute State Socialism. This came to a head after the leader, known as Tenimine, who heavily lambasted Harold Duighan on 25 June, during the elections, after an argument broke out between them, which lead to Tenimine asking Harold about his mental state.

As the conversation continued, Tenimine stated he had the mind of a Totalitarian dictator, and that he also had a Superiority Complex and Saviour Complex. He, in simple terms, described Harold as a Narcissistic Totalitarian Dictator who was power hungry. Harold disagreed, and that he did not have any mental disorders or problems. Tenimine also criticized the government and demanded he see the results as fast as possible to prevent election fraud. After the results were released, he showed suspicions regarding the results, and stated he would wait until tomorrow to determine his opinion.

Information shall be determined as time continues, and as events unfold. The turmoil and strife is not a current threat to the nation's stability, but it is being watched as it occurs.
